Part-time (3 days per week), Bristol, £25-30k DOE (Pro Rata)

Unfold is a web design and development agency, helping ambitious start-ups and scale-ups accelerate their business by simplifying their UX and building market-leading websites and digital platforms. Based in the heart of Bristol, we’re on the lookout for a Marketing Manager to join our small, passionate team.

We’re looking for someone to champion all of Unfold’s marketing endeavours and grow our presence in Bristol and beyond. The role reports to Unfold’s MD, Harry and comes with a huge amount of autonomy. It will be your job to push the envelope on everything from our strategy, our thriving email list to our monthly event series. We’re looking for someone who is eager to bring new ideas to the table and champion these all the way through to fruition. In return we’ll ensure you have the time and resources you need to succeed.

You’ll be joining the business at a time of growth, with several exciting projects in the pipeline and the opportunity to make your mark on the role. We’re a friendly bunch (I know, we would say that, but really) who understand the pressures of everyday life and believe in promoting work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: You’ll lead the business’ marketing strategy with support from the MD. Helping to identify trends and brainstorm new ideas to optimise our strategy and grow our presence.
  • Content writing: Create engaging and informative content and thought leadership pieces, including copy for our website, resources and guest articles.
  • SEO: You’ll boost organic search rankings by monitoring and improving our SEO through targeted keywords and website content. You’ll also be responsible for finding suitable link-building content partnerships or PR opportunities.
  • Relationships: both with our team and with our external network. You’ll work closely with our studio team to brief in everything from fantastic visuals to new landing pages. You’ll also build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders for PR & content sharing opportunities.
  • Email: Grow our email list and foster loyal subscribers through sharing of valuable content.
  • Social Media: Manage our social media strategy and increase our presence online and in the local community.
  • Events: Run and manage our event series Below The Fold, identifying and liaising with speakers and promoting via appropriate channels.
  • Awards applications: Write compelling award applications to give Unfold and our clients the best chance of success.

About you:

  • Have exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and a keen eye for detail.
  • Able to work autonomously and take the initiative.
  • Experience managing content through a CMS (preferably WordPress)
  • Experience using MailChimp and running high-retention email campaigns
  • Able to take a business development-led approach to marketing.
  • A confident multi-tasker with the ability to strategise, manage projects and juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Have 3+ years experience in Marketing, ideally in a similar role (but not necessarily at managerial level).
  • You’ll need to be Bristol based or willing to relocate, as you’ll need to go into the office regularly for collaboration and events

Not required, but great to have:

  • Adobe Creative Suite skills (or an interest in learning)
  • An interest in tech, startups, digital design or eCommerce.
  • Experience running webinars or events.
  • Basic video editing skills
